Albuquerque Heading Home - Poverty Simulation 2012
NMMFA/NM Housing Summit
VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT
Albuquerque Heading Home will be presenting a very participatory, evidence-based poverty simulation the afternoon of Wednesday, August 22, 2012 as part of the NM Mortgage Finance Authority’s 2012 NM Housing Summit.
We are looking for a corps of volunteers to help implement the 3-hour event.
WHO
We need a mix of people willing to participate as service providers, vendors, law enforcement, and so on, who have had some variation of real-life experience in such roles. This includes and is not limited to those who have experienced poverty.
LEVEL OF COMMITMENT
- Volunteer training will be held at noon on August 22nd.
- 5 hours total for orientation, set-up, session, wrap-up on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from 12:00-5:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Downtown.
AUDIENCE
Participants will be made up of people from around the state who will be attending the 2012 NM Housing Summit. Among those will be housing authority representatives, property managers, lenders, tax credit developers, government officials, and others.
RESULT
We hope for this simulation to become a vehicle for reaching across stakeholder groups and sectors, through the efforts of Albuquerque Heading Home, to inform and engage diverse community members in
Our vision that homelessness in Albuquerque is rare, short-lived and non-recurring.
Please help spread the word. For more information about volunteering and/or about Albuquerque Heading Home, contact Catherine Hummel ([email protected]) at NM Mortgage Finance Authority or Jenny Metzler ([email protected]) at Metropolitan Homelessness Project/ABQ Heading Home.
