Action Events Team Volunteer Description

Creative, organized, energetic people who like to have fun are just the folks Heading Home needs for events and our Action Teams. Volunteers begin meeting once a month and increase the frequency of meetings as needed prior to events. Participation ranges from annual service (year-round), to one or two seasonal team events of choice. Events do not have to be consecutive. Action Team volunteers earn regular volunteer credit hours and earn double hours volunteering day-of the events. Events & Action Team opportunities include:

• Campaign kick-off parties
• Press Conferences
• 3rd Party Fundraisers
• Appreciation “Attacks”
• Community Outreach & Education
• Annual Partner Appreciation Breakfast
• Casa Ball (Gala style fundraising event)
• Peer to Peer Luncheons
• AOC & Client events
• Endurance events (walks, runs, bike-rides)

As part of this special group, you will be involved in the planning and decision making that create the best events in town. Heading Home Event & Action Team volunteers do everything from designing logos and choosing menus to soliciting sponsorships and collecting auction/raffle items. People with special skills and talents (photography, design, film making, organizing, public speaking…) are always welcome on our events team. Volunteering at Heading Home events is a great way to learn about the organization and meet the people we serve as well as those who make our work possible. It’s also a lot of fun!
